How scoring works
A living document. This page mirrors the same four sections the app shows, in full.
1 · The instrument
A guided capture standardises angle, distance, lighting and expression. Photos that fail quality checks are retaken, never scored.
2 · Honest numbers
Each lens produces metrics with an uncertainty band sized from measured test-retest repeatability — our capture-consistency study numbers will be published here.
Slow-moving measures show explicit "too early" labels until your archive supports a read.
TODO before publishing: publish the repeatability study numbers once the harness has run 10+ subjects × 5 days. Until then this page must not quote a band figure.
3 · The forecast
Projections are illustrative estimates built from published ageing-pattern research plus your own trend. They are never predictions or diagnoses.
4 · The evidence
- FaceAge — The Lancet Digital Health, 2025.
- Hughes et al. randomised controlled trial — Annals of Internal Medicine, 2013.
- Guyuron et al. twin study — 2009.
Twenty cited sources power the in-app coach.
What we never do
Diagnose, treat, or predict. For medical concerns — a dermatologist or your GP.
AgePulse is a general-wellness product. It estimates cosmetic appearance and does not diagnose, treat or prevent any condition. For medical concerns, speak to a dermatologist or your GP.
